Chart Records was formed ca. 1958.
History[edit | edit source]
Formed by Gary Walker and Slim Williamson "primarily as a means to record some of the local talent and to lease the master recordings to one of the larger labels such as Chancellor, Decca, and Columbia.," according to Discogs.
Subsidiaries included Great Record Co, Music Town, and Chart Action.
Gary Walker would later own the Great Escape record and comics stores in Nashville.
